After bleaching my hair for the first time ever, messing it up, and then having to have it professionally fixed (see related articles) I think it’s safe to say that my hair was a little less than a happy camper. The bad news is, yes, it is expensive but the good news is this is not the kind of product that you need to use every time you wash your hair. On the contrary, since it is formulated to help repair and restore your hair unless you’re doing some heavy duty damage just use it when you need a special conditioning like after or before a coloring, or in my case bleaching, swimming, etc.

After I bleached my hair it was a little fried. The pieces closest to the roots were fine, because it’s the least damaged hair. When I had it professionally fixed a few weeks later the stylist gave me a deep conditioning treatment which helped a little bit but days later I could see (even after a hair cut) that the ends were still in bad shape. When I used the Urgent Repair Shampoo it was a little harsh on the pink parts of my hair (washed out most of the color, but that could have had something to do with the brand of dye) but even after I flat ironed it my hair was much happier. It has a great shine to it and the hair itself was silky and smooth. Just how we like it, right? What more could you ask for?
