Hey Ladies,
So I recently took a job working on a project for a women’s fashion site about to launch called hercatwalk.com
I need your help! Part of my job is helping to fill the site with content. Part of my stay on this project is contingent on my ability to help bring in new viewers and fill the site with as many pictures of you fab ladies as possible!

Ok, not only is it super easy but it’s really fun too and only takes seconds.

Here’s what I need you to do:
Click this link: http://bit.ly/hcsignup1
Set up an account: It’s as simple as name, email, password.
Upload pictures: Pull pictures from your FB, iPhoto, etc. and place in a category (there are a zillion, or you can create your own category)

REMEMBER: When the site asks for a referral please type in (Stylegeist) so that my work can track how many catwalkers I bring in and I get to keep my job!! Yah!

Photo Shoot For Photographer Emily Soto

Set: 1/3

This photo shoot took place about a week or so ago. We shot in a pretty sketchy area of industrial downtown San Diego. It was a cold and windy day. I felt sorry for the models as they shivered in what little clothing they were dressed in as we hoped to capture a season other than winter. We shot in door ways and against gates which housed strange car scraps yet didn’t seem to be any sort of scrap yard. We shot on tires, and in alleys, where we were reminded of street hockey with lookouts and someone to yell the occasional “CAR!” or ” ALL CLEAR!”.

All in all it was a lovely shoot. The photographer, Emily Soto, was fantastic as was her crew! The models, Alex and Cheyenne, were awesome! My assistant Marilynn Click, was as usual regulating! And our hair and makeup artists rocked it out! Thanks to everyone for having me on the team!

What I Wore Today

Heading out for another lovely night of Ken Club Karaoke, located in the heart of beautiful Kensington, SD. I found this dress at a local boutique and purchased it for my styling arsenal…but not before I took it for a test spin! I love the cut of the dress which has a very interesting silhouette and a cool paint splattered pattern.

I didn’t want to cover up the dress too much so I paired it with this mini cardigan for both warmth and modesty.

Adding the knee length cowboy boots and initial necklace I have a look that I affectionately refer to as “The Sweetheart”.

What I Wore Today

So, we’ve got a lot of outfits to catch up on. So it’s really just an archive of the outfits over the last couple of months. Sorry, school kicked my butt this last semester. But enough of me…

This is a little something I put together on my way out to meet with a band the band Authentic $ellout, which I will be styling for press kit photos as well as website photo shoots and what not. I’m super excited to be working with such an awesome well known local underground punk band! Now, how much will they let me get away with?

It is important that when you’re meeting clients you look professional but not out of place. You can’t try too hard, and remember, you are there to work. Don’t over do it.

Ladies and Gentlemen: The Fabulous Stains

Recently I had the pleasure of watching one of Diane Lane’s first feature roles! This is without a doubt a movie chocked full of crazy 80’s makeup, fishnets, teased hair, and some pretty good tunes to boot!

What It’s About:

Corrine Burns retreats far into plans for her band, The Fabulous Stains, after her mother’s death. So far that she gets them (she and two cousins) on a tour with a washed-out glam-rock group and a rising British punk band, radically changes her appearance, attracts a cult following and national media attention. With luck like this, what could go wrong?

The Stains are a girl rock band comprised of sisters Corinne and Tracy Burns and their cousin Jessica McNeil. Their talent is questionable but media attention on Corinne’s personal life gets them at least a start as a support band on a U.S. national tour. The tour headlines an aging metal band - the Metal Corpses - and their lead-in act, the British rock band, the Looters. The Stains, purely there as a buffer between the existing two feuding acts, quickly take the rock world by storm with further media attention centered on a few forthright statements from Corinne and her transformation into punk rock diva, what her fans call it “the skunk look”. The dynamics on the tour quickly changes as the Stains’ collective stars rise. The question is, will the stars burn out?

What To Look For:

Awesome makeup, great hair, typical band drama, hot pants, and everything we love about the 80’s!
